Hi and welcome to our first blog of 2012!

We'd just like to start off by wishing everyone a very happy and peace-filled New Year!

Although the mood of the festive season was definitely of a traditional flavour, it seemed that folks still wanted to get down with some swinging Gypsy Jazz at their end of year parties.

We had a busy and exciting time in the run up towards Christmas, ending December with some memorable gigs in London when the Jonny Hepbir Trio turned quartet with the fabulous Sara on vocals.

Here we are getting them in the mood at a corporate bash in Hendon.

The BIG one happened for us the following day when we were asked to play at a private Christmas party for the one and only mega-legend that is, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell!

Held at the Institute of Director's in Pall Mall, no expense was spared to get the Christmas vibe just right. We'd been asked to keep quiet about it up until the event, but we were all pretty excited about meeting and performing for the former Beatle and Wings head honcho.

Here's us nipping off to Trafalgar Square for a spot of coffee, miso soup and pigeon spotting just before the gig.

We all had a fantastic time at the gig and the McCartneys were great fun.  Paul even 'sat in' on a number with a teeny wee harmonica and got all be-bop for a few notes!

All in all it was a great event to be a part of and a cool way to end 2011.

We're really looking forward to 2012 and hoping to add a little something musically different and exciting to many weddings and events this coming year.  We're already taking bookings into next winter, so omens are looking groovy.

Jonny Hepbir Trio and Quartet

One of the coolest bookings we took was in May; a great corporate event for the French drinks company RICARD.  They flew Jonny and Jason to Morocco for a couple of sets of hot Gypsy Jazz!  A gruelling four flights in just over 24 hours, made even more gruelling by the late nightwedding gig just a few hours before the first flight.

The boys were well looked after though and managed find the only alcoholic cocktail bar in Casablanca, despite Jason almost being eaten by a shark during an impromptu dip in the sea earlier in the day!

Back in Blighty, we've had a lot of fun making music for couples tying the knot over this summer. 

Here's the Jonny Hepbir Trio with the fabulous Sara in mid-swing in the Cotswolds.

We've had a Gypsy Jazz mad crowd at a Jewish anniversary in London, played for the Architectural Association's end of season function and a boat-flavoured wedding on the Thames (pictured below).

The Jonny Hepbir Trio have performed at a spate of vintage style events too.  Here's us at Hollie and Luke's wedding near Mansfield.  An amazing setting with some awesome dance action going down.

We're already taking bookings into next year; there's a lot of people wanting to party over the Olympic period.

Our winter diary is also shaping up nicely with winter weddings and Christmas functions.

Hitting the new year running, it seemed the harsh weather didn't put the dampeners on many people's plans for their winter weddings.

At times, it could be a bit grim travelling in the snow, but when people book the Jonny Hepbir Trio, we always deliver! (We're only usually put off by erupting volcanoes or zombie hordes roaming the streets)

Over the Christmas period, live music of a swinging nature was still a popular choice for both private functions and parties as well as the usual corporate events and office parties.

We've had the pleasure of playing at some fabulous venues, both as our instrumental Gypsy Jazz Trio and as a quartet with our superb vocalist, Sara.

One of our favourite bookings was an all acoustic session at celebrity chef, Raymond Blanc's flagship restaurant, Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons in Oxfordshire.

 January, February and March 2011 have kept the Trio busy with gigs, and the website brisk with enquiries for bookings throughout the year and beyond.

We'll be heading to Wales for a Golden Anniversary party over the approaching Easter period, but before that, we're booked to perform for the Brighton Chamber of Commerce Award Ceremony!
